Subject: Race Site Message from Hatim Boutafala May 4, 2023 9:15 am I work for TIC Health located in London, on the Hive Site which is home to Barnet FC.
I wanted to enquire about the possibility of using our location as a start & finish point for an upcoming run.
We would allow you to use the site as a start / finish point and to access our facilities for the runners and their supporters – e.g. access to the toilets, a bag-drop area, car park and Starbucks for refreshments.
Please do let me know if this is worth discussing.
Thank you

Subject: EERR Change of Race Date for Elvis Message from Martin Clarke March 8, 2023 6:39 pm Hi all, George has just let me know that EERR will be running with Tuesday 27th June for the Olympic Park 5k and not 21st June as stated in the meeting. This actually helps as the previous date was within 2 days of the Essex 5 mile champs. Thanks to George and EERR. Cheers Martin I’ll get the flyer and the website changed within the next couple of days.

Subject: Elvis Reps Meeting 1st March 2023 – Minutes Message from Martin Clarke March 3, 2023 10:08 am Many thanks to those attending the Elvis meeting and to Sally for taking the minutes. Please pass on these minutes to attendees that sat in for any club reps or anyone else with an interest.
Subsequent to the meeting George of EERR has informed me that the date for there race 21st June should be changed to tbc for now due to a booking problem with the Olympic Park. It has also been pointed out that this date is also 2 days prior to the Essex 5 mile championships. It might be an opportunity to move the date to a week either side if possible but I guess all depends on whether the booking date is free.
With regard to the minimum age limit the date remains as 15 years of age for the series. However at race level the situation is complicated by not only the fact that we run 5ks and 5 miles which have different limits but also that the races are also run under different licenses Road/xc/ and trail which also slightly differ. A 15 years of age on race day limit would work fine for 5ks across the board and is also ok for a 5 miles road licence but for any 5 mile race held under an EA trail license (eg the Ilford Hilly 5) the age limit should be 17. Thats probably as simplified as I can get it. Alison of BRR is comfortable with changing her race limit to 15 for the Barking 5k and will get back to me after she has spoken to committee. She was however correct in saying that under EA rules under 15s can actually run this distance (as a couple of them did last year). All the best for now and have an enjoyable series. Martin

Subject: Run-a-long to support Gary McKee – the famous 365 marathon man Message from Jamie Zucker October 22, 2022 12:22 pm Hello fellow Elvis reps,
It’s Jamie here from EERR. Thank you to Havering for hosting the presentation evening last night, I wasn’t there personally but I was told it was great.
Secondly, I hope you don’t mind me drawing your attention to an “fun run-a-long” event that our member Shree is organising with our club’s support. We’d be ever so grateful if you could notify your members – sharing the information below and the flyer attached. Thanks….
Gary McKee – the famous 365 marathon man – is running his 324th consecutive marathon at the Community Track in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Sunday 20th November.
We invite you and your club’s members to come and be part of the occasion by participating in our fun run-a-long. Participants are challenged to run as many laps as they can while witnessing Gary’s grit and determination and helping get closer to the ultimate goal of raising £1million for charity.
Further information and registration is here: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/garys-365-run-a-long-tickets-443929062777
*Why are we doing this?* Gary McKee is an extraordinary Cumbrian man in his fifties who has taken up the challenge of running 365 marathons this year. Come snow, storm, heatwave or hail, Gary hasn’t missed a beat. Driven by a fierce commitment to his community, he is demonstrating incredible physical and mental strength in order to complete a challenge inconceivable to most of us. (www.itv.com/news/border/2022-09-29/pride-of-britain-award-nominee-gary-mckee-runs-a-marathon-every-day). He is aiming to raise £1million for Macmillan Cancer Support and Hospice-at-Home and we need your help to achieve his target!
A few of us at East End Road Runners have been lucky enough to join him on some of his many marathons; we were blown away by his tenacity and drive and found it a hugely inspiring experience. His effort and positivity demonstrates not just the determination but also spreads the value of perseverance through these difficult times.
Please join us on the run, donate and cheer for Gary. The love, and smiles from fellow runners will keep him motivated!
Thank you,
Jamie and East End Road Runners

Subject: ELVIS Results Message from Martin Hawker September 28, 2022 7:03 pm Hello, Thanks for a great series this summer. We were just reviewing the results and noticed that one of our members at Harold Wood is listed twice. Jo Findlay has 3 race results, and Joanne Findlay has 3 race results. Jo and Joanne are one and the same person. If possible please can you amend her to Jo Findlay… I believe the 6 race results would put her 10th in the overall ladies list – which is a great achievement in her 1st season with the club. Regards Martin (HWRC Secretary)
